AI Tool Perks

Editorial policy

This page exists so a reader can check whether the list is worth trusting, and so a vendor knows exactly what money buys here before they ask.

How a perk gets listed

Anyone can submit a perk and vendors do not pay to be listed. We read the terms on the vendor's own page in full before publishing, and we publish what those terms actually say, including the limits.

Where the pitch and the terms page disagree, the terms page wins. Where a vendor states a range of value, we print the top of it, always marked as an upper limit, and the perk page says what it takes to reach it. A vendor that names no figure gets none from us, and totals leave it out rather than guess.

How the order is decided

The order of every list is computed from the reader's own answers and from facts about each perk: the value the vendor publishes, the stage or age at which it closes, the number of steps to claim it, and any end date. It is not curated by hand and it is not for sale. Changing your listing's position means changing the offer.

The one exception is the sponsored listing, which sits in its own slot at the top of a list, carries a Sponsored label, and is excluded from the ranking rather than inserted into it.

What is open and what asks for an email

Every listing is open to everyone with no account and no charge: the vendor, the offer, the value, who qualifies and when it closes. The index is never metered, and we do not hide categories or pages behind a count.

Reading the terms in full is limited to five perks a month without an account. That part is where the work goes, and an email address is what it costs. There is no paid tier above it and nothing to cancel.

The terms are in the page source for every visitor including search engines, and the limit is applied visually rather than by withholding the markup. That is deliberate: serving crawlers different content from readers is cloaking. It also means the limit is a request rather than a lock, which we would rather admit than pretend otherwise.

How we make money

Three ways. Affiliate commissions on some outbound links, sponsored listings capped at one per list, and one sponsor per newsletter issue.

Every paid item is labelled where it appears, not only on this page. Outbound affiliate links carry the appropriate link attributes so search engines can tell them apart from editorial links.

No advertiser sees an article, a listing or a ranking before it is published, with one exception: newsletter sponsors review their own sponsor copy and nothing else in the issue.

Keeping listings honest

Every listing is rechecked weekly and each perk page shows the date its terms were last read in full. A perk whose terms no longer match what we published is corrected or removed, whether or not the vendor tells us.

Perks that have closed stay visible with the closing date shown rather than disappearing, so a reader who arrives from a search result learns what happened instead of hitting a dead page.

Corrections

If something here is wrong, tell us and we will fix it and say what changed. We do not quietly edit a published page to make an error disappear.
