Marketplace apps stay at full price throughout, so the twelve months are only free if your workflow does not depend on them. The seat caps differ per product, and Service Management at ten seats is the one that catches support teams out.

What the terms actually say
Twelve months of premium tiers across most of the suite at fifty seats each, Jira, Confluence, Loom Business with AI and Bitbucket, with Jira Service Management and Customer Service Management capped lower at ten seats apiece. Jira Product Discovery gives ten creator seats and unlimited contributors. Marketplace apps are not included, which matters because a real Jira setup usually leans on two or three of them and those bill separately from day one. Atlassian reviews every application by hand and may ask for a Crunchbase or Pitchbook profile to confirm what you claimed.
Who can claim it, in Atlassian's words
Not an existing Atlassian paid customer, VC funded or associated with a partner accelerator or incubator, and no more than ten million dollars raised in external funding.
What you get without this
Atlassian's free tier, which covers up to ten users on Jira and Confluence without the premium features.
